El Cotillo has been Star Surf School’s home town in Fuerteventura for more than two years now and, day by day, we are more and more convinced it was the best choice for our surf school and surf camp. You can walk around for hours without sights of civilization or find your own private lagoon and just stare at the infinite ocean ’til the sun goes down.
El Cotillo is a really small place still managing to keep its original flair of being a fishermen village. It seems like for some reason this place keeps away from the massive tourist industry which helps to maintain a very chilled and calm atmosphere. Moreover, the majority of the tourists come to El Cotillo looking for a place for a perfect budget surf holiday. So that’s the reason why the easy surf lifestyle vibes perspire all around.
Star Surf School is one of the few lucky ones to be situated so close to the best spots for both beginners and intermediate surfers. That’s why our surf holiday guests are always the first ones paddling out and catching the best waves!
I think we can all agree on that there is nothing more rewarding after an entire day of surfing than the tiredness mixed with endorphines and, most importantly, a full belly! Luckily El Cotillo is also well known over the whole island for its high quality gastronomy. Our surf camp guests can confirm that, since they get to go out for their dinners to different restaurants 5 times a week to enjoy local specialties and international goodies!

Seit über 2 Jahren beherbergt das wunderschöne El Cotillo nun unsere Surfschule und mit jedem Tag sind wir uns sicherer, dass es der perfekte Ort für unsere Surfschule und Surf Camp ist. Nicht selten kommt es vor, dass unsere Gäste, die ihren Surfurlaub hier verbringen, an diesem bezaubernden Dörfchen hängen bleiben. Viele von ihnen kommen immer wieder zurück, um mit uns Fuerteventuras beste Wellen zu surfen und in den von Stränden umgebenen Surfapartments zu entspannen.
Aber was ist es eigentlich, das uns so unwahrscheinlich verzaubert?
El Cotillo befindet sich an der Westküste im Norden Fuerteventuras und ist buchstäblich die letzte Sackgasse. Wer hier strandet, entdeckt weit und breit nichts als malerisch wilde Natur, die diese kleine Surfoase mitten im Nirgendwo umgibt. Für stundenlange Spaziergänge weitab vom Touristengetümmel oder Sonnenbaden in versteckten Lagunen, wo man auf die Weiten des Ozeans blicken kann, bis die Sonne darin untergeht.
El Cotillo ist ein rühiges kleines Örtchen, dass es irgendwie schafft seinen ursprünglichen Flair eines Fischerdorfs beizubehalten. Es scheint, als habe es sich abgekapselt vom boomenden Massentourismus und bewahre so eine relaxte Atmosphäre, perfekt für ein paar schöne Urlaubstage.
Star Surf Schools ist eine der wenigen glücklichen Surfschulen, die in unmittelbarer Nähe der besten spots für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene liegt. Und das bedeutet, dass unsere Surfschüler oftmals die ersten sind, die rauspaddeln und die besten Wellen absahnen.
Ich glaube wir sind uns alle einig: das beste nach einem langen Surftag ist dieses unvergleichliche Gefühl von Müdigkeit gemischt mit Endorphinen uuuuund ESSEN! Am besten viel und gut! Welch ein Glück also, dass El Cotillo auf der ganzen Insel bekannt für seine high class Gastronomie bekannt ist. Auch die Gäste unseres Surfhouses können das bestätigen. Immerhin dürfen sie 5 mal pro Woche bei gemeinsamen Abendessen verschiedene lokale und internationale Spezialitäten schlemmen.
