Now that winter is upon us its nice to think back and remember those long, sunny and warm surf camp days. A nice cool breeze flowing through the air cooling our overheating bodies, fun mellow beach breaks to be surfed into the sunset and those party filled evenings drinking some cold ones, it really is the dream life. However France in the winter time is a different story, hence why surf camps aren’t open. Its cold, short, wet days, 5mm of rubber wetsuit and stormy swells. Although for the keen surfer this isn’t all bad as it means no crowds and more pumping waves to themselves. Check out this video of the annual locals comp at La Graviére in Hossegor, it might not be sunshine and boardshorts however it is certainly pumping waves!
