The Star Surf Camps Family Revisited

It’s Valentine’s Day & what better way to spread the love for surfing than by revisiting some of our past surf camp staff. Where are they now & what have they been up to over the past couple of years?

First up in this mini series is Yogi Guru & all-time legend …

... Katie Elizabeth Harrison

When I think of Star Surf Camps, my heart swells with the love for all the weird and wonderful people I have met through working in their surf camps. I first stumbled across the fun-filled surfing family though my cousin Robbie (anyone who has visited the Moliets surf camp will know this legend!!). I had a brief visit to the surf camp in Moliets in September 2014 to cover the yoga teacher spot for a few weeks. Next thing I knew I was applying for a job to manage the Fuerteventura surf camp!

After an incredible six months on Fuerteventura, I then moved to France to manage the surf camp in Moliets. There were so many incredible moments during this period of my life, we surfed, we danced, we laughed and we partied, never a dull moment with the Star Surf Camps family. A few stand out memories were the infamous flunky ball games we held each week and, one day, it rained so hard in surf camp, there was nothing to do but put on your wetsuit and create an obstacle course. Even in the pouring rain, we laughed and danced the night away!

Having met so many wonderful and interesting people during my time at Star Surf Camps, I then was inspired to create a holiday experience of my own. Being a yoga teacher, I wanted to give people a wellness experience that was both fun and informative. In 2016, I started

‘Revitalize Retreats’

and have now run many yoga and adventure retreats both in the UK and abroad.

My latest venture is renovating a space near Exeter in the UK to turn into a movement studio where we will run any movement based activity (yoga, dance, Pilates, martial arts) with a strong social element. I want people to be able to enjoy moving their bodies in whatever form that is and use that to form a community based around health. We’re not quite ready yet to reveal the space, but if you fancy a sneaky peak, check out

‘Revitalize Studios’

Star Surf Camps has given me so many things, but the most wonderful blessing has been the people I have met over the years who I will love and cherish for as long as I am on this earth.

A truly special time in my life for which I will be forever grateful.
