We’re spreading more surfing love by revisiting some of our past surf camp staff. Next up, the inspiring and creative surf instructor turned entrepreneur, Emily Price aka Pricey!

My first ever visit to Star Surf Camps was with my University surf club. After a week of surfing, wild antics and awesome waves, I headed to Galicia in Northern Spain to work my first season as a surf instructor. I next bumped into the Star Surf Camps’ crew at the BUCS surf championships down in Newquay where I actually landed 3rd place! When I heard that Star Surf Camps were looking for surf instructors for their 2013 summer surf camps, I applied without thinking twice and was super stoked to become part of the Star Surf Camps familia.

For the next three surf camp summers, I dotted between the Yoga Surf Camp and Moliets Surf Camp, teaching surfing and yoga, and also managing the yoga surf camp. Working with Star Surf Camps was an all-time experience where I met all round awesome humans. Stand-out memories have to include splashing around in the shallows in the middle of the night on the beach where the bioluminescent algae made the wet sand look like a glittery starlit sky!

Since graduating from Exeter University and leaving the Star Surf Camps Team, I have focussed on my own eco surf swimwear brand HangZen Clothing – I have designed tried and tested a collection of surf worthy swimwear which is made from 78% recycled plastic removed from the ocean.

I am now crowdfunding to grow the brand and release the first collection!
