Hi Guys! My name’s Marco, and I‘ll be doing all of your surf photography in our latest surf camp in Santander, Spain. I got here in late June and, until the end of September, I’ll be sharing some of our surf holiday adventures with you!
During my first week in Santander, I’ve helped with putting the finishing touches to this amazing activity camp! We’ve now got a super cozy Sunset Lounge and a fantastic “Hammock Hotel” for you to relax in after a great day full of activities like surfing perfect waves, SUP along northern Spain’s stunning coast, playing volleyball, beach games and much more! We’ve also set up a ping-pong table and lots of slacklines for you to practice your surfing balance on.
I spent most evenings shooting sick waves or our team’s skateboarding skills to beautiful sunsets. The landscape here is just incredible – far in the distance you can still see snow-covered mountain tops while going for a sunset surf session in perfect waves. On top of that, Oyambre Natural Park has some of the most awesome trails I’ve ever seen, perfect for exploring and skateboarding.
On the 4th of July, we had our first surf holiday guests arriving in the camp. We had a great welcome dinner with drinks and games and lots of mixing and mingling. Our first day could’ve also not been more perfect with great waves for our very first surf lesson. I’ve got some great shots of our lovely guests catching white water waves – a blast for every surf photographer! We also went for some sick trips on the SUP boards along the picture perfect coast of the Bay of Biscay. Our Yoga instructor, Sophie, even showed us some of her very impressive SUP Yoga skills. On Thursday, we went for our first surf holiday trip to the beautiful town of Comillas. I’d never been and was particularly impressed with the town’s stunning architecture, cool Spanish flair and delicious tapas restaurants. Definitely coming along for text week’s trip!
For me, my first few days here could’ve not been more exciting, and I’m really looking forward to welcoming more Star Surfers for their surf holidays to our activity camp here in Santander!
