We’re back from a short but very busy break over Christmas and New Years’! A big THANK YOU to all you surfing legends who spend their surf holiday with us and made the entire Fuerteventura surf team have a very merry time.
Now it’s back to the world of surfing and, just in time for the New Year, we have a new member joining our surf instructor team here on Fuerteventura! Today, meet our lovely surf coach, Jaume, or how I still call him, Jaime, ha!
Hi, I’m Jaume Caballero and 25 years old. I was born in a small town in the north of beautiful Mallorca where I started to surf when I was only 13 years old, and yes, there are waves on Mallorca.
When I finished university, I started to travel and live in different countries and fell in love with the surfing lifestyle. After surfing the amazing but very, very cold waves of Ireland for all of last year, I needed a change in climate and water temperature. Fuerteventura seemed like the perfect surfing paradise, so I started to look for surf schools here. That’s how I found my new surfing family, Star Surf Schools.
When I teach surfing, I teach it whole-heartedly! And whenever I teach, I try to pass on my passion for surfing to our surf holiday guests. When I surf, I’m in my happy place and I love to make all surf beginners feel the same way and enjoy the experience.
Surfing for me isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of living! Surfing makes me want to travel, to see new places and meet new people. Discovering and surfing new spots is what I love most and what I can do here, thanks to the amazing North Track just outside of El Cotillo, every single day.
For me, living and surfing on Fuerteventura is like being on a constant surf holiday. And to make a carrier of what I love, is just the icing on top! I’m really looking forward to my time here, meeting more of you Star Surfers and showing you my little surfing paradise!
