Apart from his job as being one of the three founders of Star Surf Camps and Sales Director, Pablo has been working for more than 3 years as a professional photographer. His passion for photography started while travelling, where he took his first shots with a disposal camera, as he tells us with a big smile on his face. He then worked his way up, got into newer technologies and with some help and inspiration from more experienced photographer friends, such as Sacha Specker (ZA) and Ryan Beppu (HAW), Pablo found his feet and very own surfing style photography.
Pablo’s specialty is underwater photography which requires knowledge of light and perspective as well as of the ocean. Being in the exact right spot at the exact right time and getting the perfect shot without getting smashed by huge waves, run over by surfers or torn away by strong currents, Pablo’s experience and confidence in the water make his photographs outstanding.
As a former professional bodyboarder, Pablo had all the best requirements for the job. As he grew up on Fuerteventura’s sister island Tenerife, catching waves and participating in bodyboard competitions, from the age of 13, by today, he does know the ocean pretty well.
Today, Pablo has swapped his bodyboard for a surfboard and his disposal camera for a professional one. Within the last few years, he’s been shooting underwater photography with professional surfers and different artists, such as the mermaid shooting and – of course – for the virtual presence of Star Surf Camps in the world wide web.
