I cannot think of a better way to combine our surf holiday passion for France with our love for a good party than to join in France’s Bastille Day celebrations! Each year on the 14th of July, the whole country is turned upside down and everybody just seems a little happier. For all of you sleeping through French history in school, Bastille Day – also known as the French National Day – commemorates the start of the French Revolution with the Storming of the Bastille on July, 14 1789 and celebrates the unity of the French people at the Fête de la Fédération. Surely, our Moliets surf camp team and our surf holiday guests sized this opportunity to get out of the surf camp, join in the festivities and make the day memorable once again!
We all woke up early on Tuesday morning, absolutely buzzing with excitement for the day ahead of us. A coach took our entire surf camp to the first stop of the day: the craziest water park in the South of France! Still 2 miles away from the park, we got a good first look at what was about to happen when we say gigantic water slides towering over huge swimming pools.
