Hi there! I am Rebecca, born and raised in southern Germany, 26 years old and currently living and working on the beautiful island of Fuerteventura. Based in El Cotillo, I can’t really complain about anything here as it’s just pretty much perfect! The main reason why I ended up here is surfing, oas you might have guessed. IFuerteventura, with its unique volcanic landscape, beautiful lagoons, reef and beach breaks that cater for every surfing ability whether complete surf beginner or aspiring pro surfer, is just THE place for me! And El Cotillo, seriously, how can you NOT fall in love with a surfing paradise like this?!

When I graduated from my International Business studies in Germany 2 years ago, I decided to travel and ended up exploring Mexico. Working, living and surfing in Puerto Escondido for about eight months was one of the best experiences in my life so far and I’m still completely stoked when I think back at it: the people, the waves, the caguamas.  A surfing lifestyle I tasted once and always wanted ever since! When I first visited Fuerteventura, I fell in love with this European Hawaii, the island’s quality of waves, abundance of surf spots and laid-back surfing lifestyle. So I just didn’t leave, ha!

Sometime in summer of last year, I started working for Star Surf’s surf school here on Fuerteventura. Together with an amazing surf team, Amelie and Kat from the surf school and Julie from our surf house, I help with making our surf camp guest’s surf holiday dreams come true! In the surf school, I attend both to our surf holiday guests as well as to spontaneous surfers who walk in on sunny days each day, keep the surf schedule running and organize Yoga and massage sessions and many other activities. And most importantly, I help share and spread the stoke and joy of surfing!

I feel really blessed to be working in a multicultural surf team and for an international surf school and surf travel company as it’s always fun and interesting. I meet surf holiday guests from around the world, all coming together to share their passion for surfing which makes for family atmosphere which is hard to find in other places. Thanks for that, Star Surf!

In the last 6 years, surfing has become my greatest passion. For me it’s not only a water sport, but offers meditation, action, balance and love – a lifestyle. So it’s not surprising that I have chosen to live by the seaside, surrounded by waves and nature in El Cotillo. Living and working in a surf environment like this is priceless: Connecting passion and work, forming part of our surf holiday guests’ surf experiences and enjoying the islands’ waves  in my free time – what more could I ask for?

Becca & the Star Surf School Team Fuerteventura

Hey! Ich bin Rebecca, geboren und aufgewachsen im schönen Süden Deutschlands, 26 Jahre alt und momentan lebe und arbeite ich hier auf dieser wunderschönen Insel namens Fuerteventura. Ich wohne in El Cotillo und kann mich wirklich über nichts beklagen – es ist einfach ziemlich perfekt! Der Hauptgrund warum ich hier gelandet bin ist natürlich das Surfen. Fuerteventura mit seiner einzigartigen Landschaft, den vielen Riff- und Beachbreaks und seinen netten Einwohnern hat mich von Anfang an in seinen Bann gezogen – und El Cotillo, wie kann man sich in diese Surfer-Hochburg nicht verlieben?

Als ich vor 2 Jahren in Deutschland mein Internationales BWL Studium abgeschlossen habe, beschloss ich Mexiko zu erkunden. 8 Monate in Puerto Escondido zu arbeiten, leben und surfen war eine meiner besten Erfahrungen und ich denke gerne zurück an die vielen Begegnungen, Wellen und Caguamas… Ein Lifestyle von dem man nicht genug bekommen kann!

Fuerteventura, Europas Hawaii, auszuchecken hat sich als eine sehr gute Idee herausgestellt, weshalb ich immer noch hier bin, ha! Im Sommer letzten Jahres habe ich angefangen für Star Surf in der Surfschule auf Fuerteventura zu arbeiten. Zusammen den Mädels des Surfteams, Amelie und Kat und Julie aud dem SUrfhaus, gebe ich mein Bestes unsere Surfgäste auf ihrem Surfurlaub glücklich zu machen. Wir kümmern uns um den problemlosen Ablauf und die Organisation von Surfstunden, Yoga, Massagen und weiteren Aktivitäten für unsere Surfer aus dem Surfhaus, unseren Sur-Apartmenst  und von außerhalb. Dabei wollen wir natürlich hauptsächlich die Freude am Surfen vermitteln und teilen, weil wir wissen wie bereichernd es ist!

In einem multikulturellen Surfteam einer internationalen Surfschule und Surf Travel Firma zu arbeiten macht Spaß und ist sehr interessant. Ich treffe hier Surfer aus der ganzen Welt zu haben, die alle aus dem gleichen Grund hier vereint, um zu surfen! Das schafft eine familiäre Atmosphäre, die ich so noch nirgends erlebt habe. Danke Star Surf dafür!

Surfen ist seit 6 Jahren meine größte Leidenschaft. Es ist nicht nur ein Sport, sondern eine Mischung aus Meditation, Action, Balance und Liebe. Eine Lebensart. Deshalb ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass ich inzwischen am Meer wohne, umgeben von Wellen und Natur in El Cotillo. Leidenschaft und Arbeit zu verbinden, dabei unseren Surfgästen einen unvergesslichen Surfurlaub zu ermöglichen und mich in meiner Freizeit selbst in die Wellen zu stürzen — was könnte ich mehr wollen?!
