Here at Star Surf Camps, we are just getting into the full flow of our surfing summer in our surf camps in France and Spain! But mind you, it won’t be long before the nights start to get shorter again and travelling to warmer climates will take you a long flight around half the globe. Still worth it, of course, but why not make the most of summer in Europe with a surf trip in September?!
Even if you haven’t got round to organising your summer surf camp holidays yet, there’s till plenty of time to get them sorted! Our summer surf camp season continues through August all the way to late September with sunny weather and great waves for all surfing abilities. Why we recommend going on a surf camp holiday at the end of the season around September time is simple:
1 | Cheaper Flights
Booking your flights soon could save you enough spending money for more than a few sangrias in the sun during your surf camp holidays. With most of September being outside of any major holidays, there are currently some great flights available. Prices start from around just 50€/£45 return from London to Bordeaux, and 60€ each way from Cologne to Biarritz.
2 | Fewer Crowds
One of the best parts about a surf holiday in September is that it marks the end of the summer crowds, after the schools have gone back from holidays but before all the sunshine and warm weather fades away. This means your chances of scoring empty line-ups shoots up!
3 | Warm Water & Weather
September is known for being one of the best months of the year to surf in Moliets! September brings some of the warmest water temperatures of the season, making it perfect for both surf beginners looking for a late summer getaway and more experienced surfers looking for a week of solid swell! With average temperature both in and out of the water sticking around 19/20°C you get the best of both worlds with slightly cooler mornings and evenings and proper summer days.
4 | Chilled Surf Camp Vibes
With main season at an end our summer surf camps start to wind down in both Santander and Moliets. September is the perfect time to come and soak up the super relaxed surf camp vibes Star Surf Camps is famous for! It’s also a perfect time for those smaller groups or solo travellers to meet like-minded surfers.
