5 Favourite Spots to Eat on your Surf Holiday in Moliets!

At our Surf Camps in France, we like to make sure you are well looked after.  That is why on your surfing holiday we include delicious daily breakfasts, packed lunches and 6 heart-warming dinners.  But we know that while on your surf trip, it is sometimes important to treat yourself to a meal that your body is really craving.  If it is a big night out, a quiet get together or a hot date you are after, we know where the best eats are for any occasion.

Here are our top 5 Restaurants in Moliets Plage you shouldn’t miss out on whilst on your surf holiday.

1. O’Burger – €€

Lets’ start with one of the most popular places that is not too expensive and in our eyes, the perfect place after a great night out. And to be fair, who doesn’t like a great home-made Burger?!

O’Burger is located right across from the l’Open Bar, a spot you might frequent on a surf camp night out, along the Place de la Bastille, a few minutes away from our surf camp.  All burgers and fries are freshly made and cooked in front of you once ordered.  You have a choice from a normal plain burger to a special ‘Les Landes Burger’ that comes with a liquid eggy surprise in the middle of the burger.  For all our Veggie surf camp guests, O’Burger has some great vegetarian options too.

2. Globetrotter – €€

Globetrotter is one of our all time favourite places at the Moliets surf camp.  Not only do they make delicious food, their little restaurant is super cosy and has a great atmosphere.  We love to sit in the back, where the terrace is decorated with bright, twinkly lights and a pillow area you can chill in and eat your food in comfort.   Globetrotters’ food is also very different to the other restaurants you will find in Moliets, as their speciality is Thai Food, a great choice with an option of sea food and meat dishes. So, if on your surf holiday you are craving noodles or rice with shrimps, muscles and other delicious foods this is the place for you.

3. La Cave a Moules – €€€

‘Did you hear about the oyster who went to the disco?’

‘He pulled a mussel…’

‘La Cave a Moules’ – The cave of mussels, how we would translate it, is all about, you guessed it….. Mussels!  You will be able to choose from mussels marinated in garlic sauce, white wine, bacon & cream, curry sauce and our favourite flavour the mussels marinated in blue cheese…. mmmmm yummy!

You shouldn’t be scared to get yourself stuck in and devouring these delicious dishes, as it can get very messy.  So definitively not a place you want to bring your first date with you unless you are going all in and showing your real side when food is involved.?  Because of its gorgeous food, this restaurant can get pretty busy during the high season so we at Star Surf Camps have figured it out…. TAKE OUT!  You can have these dishes to take out, so you don’t have to wait for a table to become available and bring them back to the surf camp, if you can handle the jealous stares of the other surf camp guests.

4. Les Cigales – €€€

Les Cigales, our favourite place if we are craving some pizzas. You will definitively find one of the best pizzas there, especially their Camembert cheese pizza, it will sweep you off your feet and will 100% be kissing your hangovers goodbye.  Perfectly located right next to the surf camp you don’t have to travel far, they also offer take out so you can get yourself a bottle of wine, grab your friends and go to the beach to watch the sun set. Good food and atmosphere what else do you need?!

5. L’Hôtel de l’Océan – €€€€

Here is our fifth and final restaurant recommendation from our surf camp crew in Moliets.  This one is more on the expensive side but still a place worth mentioning.  L’Hôtel de l’Océan is known for its gourmet dishes, with each bite you take, you know how much effort they have put into one dish. Everything is perfectly fresh, from the local area and always perfectly cooked to your preferences. You can choose from meat dishes; like duck and beef,  or delcious fish dishes, freshly caught daily, accomapnied by refreshing salad plates.  Definitively a place where you and your significant other should visit for a date night, you won’t regret it.  This restaurant is also great for a couple of pre-drinks or coffee and while you are enjoying your beverage you are also more than welcome to use their free wifi.

Thinking about allllll these great restaurants is making us hungry and wishing that summer would come around faster and visit all these places again!
