We have been organising surf holidays for more than 10 years and, just like many of our surf camp guests, we have grown older and started families. Needless to say, we still love surf camp life! And wouldn’t miss a summer camping by the sea for the world. If you’re looking for a fun-filled holiday with lots of beach time and outdoorsy fun in the sun, you have come to the right place.

With us, you can learn to surf as a family. We tailor our surf holiday packages to each of our families individually. You can book family surf lessons for you and your children if you want to learn to surf together as a family. Or for larger groups, we can also offer child-friendly surf lessons specifically designed for the little ones in the family. As parents, you can be sure that we work with professional surf instructors who make their surf lessons fun and safe. All our surf instructors are experienced, licensed and have a lifeguarding qualification. 

However, our surf holiday packages for families are not just for little ones, but also for grown-ups. As parents, we invite you to take part in all our day and evening activities. There’s plenty to choose from, from beach yoga and volleyball to Wine & Cheese evenings and Open Mic Nights for the musicians amongst you. Our day trips are also suitable for the whole family.

Accommodation Options
For Families

Mobile Homes in France

We have set up two family mobile homes in a quieter part of our surf & yoga camp in Moliets-Plage. Our mobile homes are bookable for a minimum of 3 guests and sleep a maximum of 5 guests. If you’re travelling with a family of more than 5, we happily reserve the nearest tents or the mobile home next door for you as well.

Our mobile homes have a large covered terrace outside that fits a 4 seater camping bench with table. From the terrace, French doors lead into a fully-equipped kitchenette. To the right of the kitchenette is the main living area with a table, two chairs and bench seat. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Then there’s a sofa bed (for one) in the living area. Bedding is included in your surf holiday package price. Further to the bedrooms, there is a shower room as well as a separate WC with wash-basin off the main living area.

Tipi Tents in France & Spain

In both our surf camp locations in France and in Spain we can offer family-friendly accommodation in our bohemian tipis. Each tipi and decking are custom-fitted with an overlap that wraps over and around the wooden flooring for a snug fit at the base to ensure rain stays out and you dry inside. There are power inlets at the back for your electronic devices and mesh pocket pouches by the bed. With a 3 metre head height and heavy duty netting, the tipis offer great style, bug protection and a cool breeze.

Our tipis can be set up as twins with two single beds or as a couples with one double bed. For added privacy and comfort, each tent has a private porch decking area and plenty of space underneath it to store your surf equipment. We also provide high-quality memory foam mattress which are allergy-free, high in density and super comfy. You can bring your own bedding or hire bedding for the week from us.

Bell Tents in France & Spain

Available in both our surf camps in Spain and France, you and your family can stay in our spacious bell tents. Designed to sleep up to 8 people, we set them up as couples (with one double mattress) or twins (with two single mattress). Families with one child can choose to share one tent.

All bell tents have a centre pole, an interior mesh zip curtain behind the door curtains and come with mash windows at the base for better ventilation. The tents are tall enough to stand a surfboard in and wide enough for some morning yoga stretches.

All our bell tents are equipped with raised wooden bed frames, an electricity socket and lighting for that little bit of extra comfort. We also provide high-quality memory foam mattress which are allergy-free, high in density and super comfy. You can bring your own bedding or hire bedding for the week from us.

Family Ensuite in Morocco

Our Tamraght surf camp is a cozy accommodation. Our bedrooms offer a relaxing and chilled atmosphere, perfect for a good rest after a long day in the surf. The common areas provide a bright and homey setting, perfect for our family dinners. We also have a rooftop with a breathtaking view of Taghazout Bay where we gather at sunset for dips and a few laughs. The surf house is the perfect vibe for those traveling solo, friends or families who wish to socialise and make new friends.

This beautiful family room overlooks the mountains with its peculiar Argan trees. It is a bright room with a private bathroom. All our rooms have air conditioning and we provide all bedding, bathroom towels and can provide hair dryers where needed.

Moliets-Plage
Southwest of France

Our family-friendly surf camp in Moliets-Plage is located on France’s Atlantic coast, between Bordeau and Biarritz, where we offer plenty of activities for both big and small, young and old. Plage de Moliets is a wide, sandy beach within easy walking distance from our campsite. The town of Moliets-Plage just outside our campsite offers a bustling high street with shops, supermarkets, ice cream parlours and many restaurants. The nature reserve of Courant d’Huchet is a stroll or bike ride away and great for day trips.

Oyambre in Cantabria
North of Spain

Located along the coast of Oyambre Natural Park, you find our surf camp among the rolling hills of Cantabria. With mount mountain views to ones side and the sea to  the other, you are spending your surf holidays in a beautiful location. The beach of ‘Playa de Oyambre’, where we teach surfing, is in walking distance from the surf camp.

Besides learning to surf, you can practise yoga on our surf camp-own yoga platform, come along on a stand up paddle tour, explore the nearby towns of San Vicente de la Barquera and Comillas and join many other fun outdoor activities.

Tamraght in Morocco
Southwest Coast

There’s plenty to see and do for the entire family in Tamraght in Morocco. Outside the surf camp, we can arrange for you and your family to go camel riding, visit the colourful Souk of Agadir or the turquoise rock pools of Paradise Valley. The surf villa itself has a communal area on the ground floor with a baby foot and ping-pong table to keep the little ones entertained. Then there’s a lounge area that’s equipped with a satellite TV and DVD player, surf magazines and books.

    Do small children stay for free?

    Yes, all children under 24 months old join our surf camps for free.

    Can we all share one tent?

    Our bell tents are spacious 8-man tents which, generally, accommodate up to 3 surf holiday guests comfortably. Any more people and it can get crowded with luggage and clothes. For larger families, we usually arrange for 2 tents that are right next to each other.
    If you and your family are looking for more comfort, our tipi tents are a step up with raised wooden bed frames, lighting and electricity. And then there's our mobile homes (France only) for even more comfort.

    How old do my kids need to be to join the surf lessons?

    In order to provide a safe environment in the water for both your child/children and other surf beginners, children need to be 8 years+ and able to swim to join our surf lessons.

    What is there to do in the surf camps?

    We've got table tennis, balance trainers as well as a variety of beach games in the surf camp.
    During surf lessons, SUP excursions and Yoga sessions, all exercise equipment can be used free of charge.
    Next to surfing and SUPing (Oyambre only), some of our weekly highlights are our sunset Yoga sessions on the beach, day trips to Biarritz or Comillas, a wine & cheese night, a BBQ, volleyball and beach games most days, surf theory lessons, a surf movie night, sunset sessions on the beach with music and drinks and many, many other fantastic opportunities for you to relax or mix and mingle.

    What facilities can we expect?

    Our surf camps are made up of our spacious bell and tipi tents as well as some mobile homes in France, shaded seating areas for entertaining and eating, an outdoor cinema area, chill-out zones with hammocks, Yoga decks, surf equipment storage tents and shower & washing facilities.
    The campsite in Oyambre also has a swimming pool, a basketball court, a kiosk, a bar and Café with WiFi.

    Will there be other families at the surf camps?

    We tend to have more families holidaying with us during the school holidays. If you'd like to visit the surf camps when other families are there, speak to our office team who can help you find the right holiday dates.

    Is there child care available at the surf camps?

    There are plenty of child-friendly activities going on in the surf camps and our team will make sure that kids are included in the fun. However, we do not provide child care or kids clubs at the surf camps. Parents or guardians are expected to keep an eye on their children. We have had many families staying with us in recent years and had great feedback from them.

    Are the sanitary blocks easily accessible?

    Yes, our surf camps form part of larger campsites which also host other surf camps and holiday makers. The campsites are equipped with bathroom and shower facilities as well as sinks, mirrors and electric sockets that are available 24/7. We do not provide hair dryers in our summer camps.
    When staying in our mobile homes in France, you will have your own private shower room and loo.
