… and I’m pretty excited to be a new addition to the Star Surf team at their office in the UK. I was lucky to grow up by the coast in beautiful South Devon and always had a love for the sea, but only began surfing when I was 15 after spending many years as a gymnast. My friends and I used to spend our summer holidays and study leave (Sorry mum!) cycling to nearby beaches just to get in the sea and found ourselves borrowing our brother’s surfboards, before we quickly became obsessed with surfing and also got introduced to surf lifesaving by the awesome people we met on the beach.
Whilst still at school, I qualified as a beach lifeguard and spent a season working on the south coast of the UK before I began to work for my local surf school. I have spent the last 5 years working on the beach, of course surfing as much as I could and became a qualified surf instructor last year.
My passion for surfing was taken to the next level when I started University in Plymouth to study Event Management and joined the Universities’ epic surf society. I met a fantastic group of surfers who were always keen to go surfing and search for new waves and soon they asked me to use my event planning skills to organise our University Surf Trips. This is how I got to know the wonderful people at Star Surf Camps who ignited my passion for surfing even more.
It was during my first surf trip aboard with Star Surf Camps to Fuerteventura when I realised the excitement of surfing new waves in warm sunny climates. In addition to visiting the amazing surf house in Fuerteventura, last summer I also visited the awesome surf camp in Moliets. You may see my face hidden around the star surf website modeling the funky new tents or having a fabulous time in France. Thanks to Star Surf I am now not only addicted to surfing, but also to surf holidays in the sunshine!
I have now finished University and aside from trying to surf whenever I can, I now split my time between teaching surfing on the beach and the star surf office.
I can’t wait to be a part of the Star Surf team and I look forward to hopefully speaking to some of you soon!
