Steve-O is without a doubt an absolute legend. He gave us a million laughs in his Jackass days. Who doesn’t remember the infamous shopping trolley stunts with BAM and Ryan! Years on, he is now drug and alcohol-free, a vegan and is using his celebrity status to help with environmental and animal activism. His activism even landed him in jail after a notorious stunt in 2015 where he climbed a 100ft crane above Sunset Boulevard in LA to protest SeaWorld on behalf of the captive whales and sea creatures. Epic. Way to go, Steve-O! ⇒ Watch the clip here!
What many people may not know though is that Steve-O is an avid surfer and has been for years. He’s been surfing in popular destinations from Morocco to Scotland. He’s been enjoying this surfing lifestyle so much, he’s even taken to van life where he spends much of his time traveling to famous skate and surf spots. ⇒ He’s hosting a weekly podcast, check it out here!
@Steve-O, if you ever read this, you are cordially invited to surf, party, meditate and hang out with us in any of our surf camps. Anytime, mate!
Super talented Aussie-born actress Margot Robbie stars in some pretty huge movies including the epic “Wolf of Wall Street” and “Suicide Squad’ where she plays the iconic badass Harley Quinn’. But what’s Robbie like in the surf?
Her first attempts at surfing include some pretty famous and funny wipeouts. See below. She later thanked the paparazzi for capturing her best angles. However, as most Australians are natural surfers, Robbie was no exception and Nissan Motors snatched her up as their ambassador for their sustainable electric cars. ⇒ Here’s the link to the short film!
This five-times Formula 1 World Champion who rakes in tens of millions every year, dates pop stars and supermodels and zooms around corners in state-of-the-art racing cars at 300+ km/h once described surfing as the best feeling ever. That’s quite an accolade to our world of surfing from, arguably, one of the world’s most enviable lifestyles. Lewis Hamilton has certainly had the added bonus of rubbing shoulders with pro surfing’s elite crew, making good friends with the likes of Kai Lenny and even scoring at the surf ranch from new best bud King Kelly himself. ⇒ Watch Lewis Hamilton Surf at Kelly Slater’s Ranch!
What we really love about Lewis Hamilton is his ambition and his philanthropy; the latter, in our view, is underappreciated due to his sporting success. Hamilton is also a proclaimed vegan who launched a vegan burger chain in London. ⇒ The BBC has more on his veganism here!
As an activist, Hamilton has recently pledged half a million dollars (£380.000,00) to help Australian wildlife affected by the recent bushfires. He regularly uses his Instagram profile to speak to his 15 million+ followers. Big up, Lewis!⇒ Read more about Hamilton’s pledge here!
@LewisHamilton, if you ever get bored of the millionaire lifestyle, supermodels and racing cars, and hanging out with Kelly Slater starts to get annoying, then you are very welcome to join our surf camp team. We could see you make a fantastic surf camp transfer driver ⇒ Apply here!
Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ frontman and Californian king Anthony Kiedis often speaks about surfing and the calming, positive effects it has on body, mind and soul. Learning to surf on our first surf trips went hand in hand with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Californication album. And those tunes certainly remain in our ultimate road trip playlists. ⇒ Listen to the full album here!
It’s easy to imagine that surfing has served as a good healthy balance for this notorious rockstar. Over the years, Anthony Kiedis has paddled out all across the globe from Malibu to the Philippines, spreading stoke wherever he goes. Watch him surf with special needs’ kids in Malibu below. If that wasn’t enough to put him in the ranks of your favourite surfing celebrities he is also an ocean defender and sea shepherd marine conservation warrior. Rock on!
100% one of our favourite comedians. And, if COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has got you locked down, we highly recommend tracking down one of his epic movies to cheer you up. We’ve found a website dedicated to ranking his movies. ⇒ Perfect for quarantine binges!
Adam Sandler was first papped surfing in Malibu. He’s fallen in love with the sport and is using his celebrity notoriety for the good cause: He’s been working with the awesome Life Rolls On-foundation who gives once-in-a-lifetime surf and skate experiences for those living with various disabilities. According to SurferToday, Paris Hilton even coughed up (excuse the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pun) 20,000$ to surf with the legendary comic.
“Charlie’s Angels”-badass and timeless beauty Cameron Diaz has been known to hit the waves since she first started learning to surf in preparation for shooting one of the Charlie’s Angels movies in 2003. Like all of us, Diaz’s surfing career has had highs and lows, from breaking her nose in a surfing accident in Hawaii to getting private surf lessons from the celebrity number one surf coach, Mr Kelly Slater himself.
Last but certainly not least! What is there to say about Chris Hemsworth surfing? Well, the Thor star charges. That’s what there is to say. Check out the video of Chris Hemsworth surfing below. We think it speaks for itself.
