Summer Acoustic Roadtrip of Noraa starts at our Carcans Surfcamp. Talented singer Noraa visits our Carcans Yoga & Surf Camp as her only surfcamp.
Star Surf Camps was the only surf camp in France that was fortunate enough to have the beautiful and very talented musician Noraa, visiting over the last few days. She performed a special acoustic gig just for us, at our Carcans camp on July 23rd to begin her tour of the French Atlantic Coast. Noraa already toured with the famous German act Patrice, who is also her producer.
Before the lovely evening began, all the guests enjoyed a regular day at the camp with surf lessons, yoga and delicious food cooked by our in-house chef. Meanwhile a stage was set up in the centre of the campsite with benches circling it, creating a very intimate and cosy setting for the acoustic event. A bar was also opened by the stage selling some of Carcan’s finest sangria and beer to keep the audience and performers hydrated throughout the evening.
At sunset, members of the talented Carcans team kicked off the live music for the night. Rich began performing a few of his own songs from his musical past life. He was then joined by Jonny, and together sang a couple of wonderful covers. Marco concluded the supporting acts and wowed us all with his incredible guitar skills!
It was then time for the headline act to take the stage. Noraa, of Chadian origin, was accompanied on guitar by her band member. Her set included several of her own songs and a couple of covers including the first French song she ever learnt, Aïcha, that got all the French guests in the audience singing along, and a wonderful Ben Harper cover.
Her beautiful raspy voice captured the whole audience and no one wanted her set to end. After Noraa’s final song she invited all the previous musicians back for a combined impromptu jam session to conclude the night. The final song of the evening was a comedic performance of The Adams Family theme tune that had everyone involved.
The night was a complete success and a thoroughly enjoyable evening for everyone. A massive thank you to everyone who performed and we hope to organise lots of similar events for our camps in the future.
