At some point within the last weeks we had a chat to Vera from Switzerland, who was one of our guests in the Fuerteventura Surfcamp and she said that she has been with Star Surf for a couple of times now. We received her feedback what made the surf holiday so special with us and how she did experience Star Surf holidays.
“It started with dreaming of me wrapping myself in waves, getting smashed by their colours, feeling green and blue but not the blue, what blues music wants to make me feel- it was definatly the opposite! Arriving in Moliets, confused to see what life can be if you live in a world called ‘Star Surf Camps’. But as soon as I made my own footprints in this sandy place I lost my confusion and this crazy strawhat-family completely blew my mind!
Is it the way we’re sitting all together eating homemade delicious food in a world made out of tents, telling each other stories about bananas and trees or rather listening to competitions who’s taller than who? Is it the way we can talk nonsense while learning the first movements on the boards and getting highfived for every bit we achieve? Is it the joy I can feel when listening to the entertaining plans and hear about the famous San Seb trip or already feeling the hangover of tomorrow when hearing conversations about flunkyball? Is it the curiosity when I get filled in groups to start with my first surf lesson and look in the ‚happy to teach you‘-faces of my new guides? It is not only about how to surf, star surf gives you an impression how to enjoy, how to live and how to feel!
Is it the way I was sitting on the roof in Taghazout, Morocco – a world far away from home and feeling as much at home as almost never before? Is it the feeling I learnt about looking in strange faces and make friends with them few seconds later? Is it the adventure life I jumped in and jumped into deep blue sea only to feel this joy I could call paradise in a valley? Is it the culture making this trip a trip not to be forgotten? It was more than surf and culture, my 2nd ‚M‘ after Moliets was the Morocco and I got my M&Ms, loved to see them and kept on eat them, more than just another ‚M‘ it was, it was the simple part two of a chapter called the magic of Star Surf.
Got this sick adrenalin rush, felt the addiction to dive again in this little strawhatworld, the answer to my M&Ms was not even far away, I added my funtastic-island Fuerteventura. Is it probably the way of hanging around in a hammock whilst smelling delicious spices getting prepared to a dish only for you? Is it the touch of a family I could feel when I met the starsurf dudes once again? Once again it was not just the place making this trip as great as it was, it was simply – words getting boring step by step, anyway it needs to be finished in style- it was the strawhatfamily, the smiling surferguys full with their funny attitude, the starsurf team spreading their magic once again. And I’m quite unstoppable to add that I’m in for the next trip, lets go to Fuerteventura, lets jump into the balinese adventure and lets go back where everything started, in sandy tents, can of beer in one hand and the surfboard in the other on e- back to my first ‚M‘ ,Moliets, where I suddenly felt a magic, I’m surely addicted to by now- the magic called STARSURFCAMPS!
