The projector is used in the evenings to analyze surf footage and to host presentations and theory lessons, then we crank up the music and open a few beers for some evenings entertainment. This year we have more bikes, more hammocks and a much larger camping area creating a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere. WIN A FREE HOLIDAY!

Before I tell you about the competition here is a little round up on whats going on in France in the run up to the season. Most of the guys are spread across the French coast making their way to our camp whilst surfing some of the amazing waves up and down the Basque coastline.

Here is a picture of Dane hiding from the girls on the beach behind a wall of water. Pablo and Sami are currently in Moliets with a couple of members of the team putting together the camp which this year will be even bigger and better. Alain is currently at the airport awaiting news on the ash cloud and Tait and Elle are settling in nicely for a quiet week of waves and a little work here and there.

I myself am still in England flying out in a few days and just picking up a few last bits and pieces including our new projector for the surf movie cinema nights in the camp

New T-Shirts Have Arrived!

This part of the year is always an exciting time for us here at Star Surf Camps. New members join the team (check the updated profiles on the team page), new boards and surf equipment arrives, the sun starts to shine in sunny France and most exciting of all our new season tee shirts have arrived! This year we have chosen to go for a number of different colours and the first 3 obviously had to be those of the French flag.

Fete De Bayonne, San Sebastian, Hossegor and SURF!

Despite a few days of cloud and rain the guys in the surf camp have made the most of the red flag days and ventured further afield to other cities in the area to taste the local delicacies and drink some fine local vino! Fete de Bayonne, for those who have never been, has to be one of Europe’s busiest, craziest and most fun one week long street parties. San Sebastian as always gave the guests a great day of sightseeing and eating and Hossegor once again provided enough shops and outlets for everyone to spend the remainder of their spending money on surf boards, clothes and skateboards.
